Accuracy & no warranty

We take reasonable care to source rates from official government publications and to re-verify them before release (see Methodology & sources). However, tax law changes (sometimes mid-year, sometimes retrospectively) and some scenarios are deliberately simplified as noted on each tool. We make no warranty that any result is accurate, current or fit for your purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of, or reliance on, this site or its calculations. Nothing here excludes rights or guarantees you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Advertising and affiliate links

CheckTax may display third-party advertising and may include affiliate or partner links to Australian tax, property, accounting, payroll and finance providers. Where a link is paid, the page on which it appears will say so. Advertising and affiliate revenue does not influence the calculator code, the rates we use, or the sources we cite: rates are sourced from primary government publications and re-verified before release regardless of any commercial arrangement. A sponsor cannot dictate the result of a calculation. A poor product does not earn a recommendation. Scope limits worth knowing

• Income tax: single Medicare levy threshold only; surcharge and family/senior thresholds not modelled.
• Stamp duty: owner-occupier established dwelling only; foreign-purchaser surcharges, NSW premium duty above $3m, and ACT's income-tested concession are not modelled.
• All tools exclude fees such as mortgage registration and title transfer charges.
